Starbuck's Sumatra has been my favorite coffee for years. However, the recent price increase has made me very unhappy.

This is now $13.95 for a pound at Starbuck's (used to be around $10.95) and $10.19 for 12 oz. ($13.55/lb) at the local supermarket. This is nearly a 30% price increase!

So, I'm looking for a good alternative that tastes great and is a great value...any suggestions?

The lock feels very sturdy and has some weight to it. The lock also has a plastic cap that shields the key hole from the elements.
The lock fits perfect on my suzuki gsxr750 disc brake. Its kind of tricky to get the pin into the drilled holes in the brake rotor and sometimes when I'm unlocking it I need to play with it a bit to get the key into the lock as the key hole spins freely.

The lock comes with a bright flourescent orange reminder lanyard and a small black heavyweight fabric storage bag you can strap to your bike. The bag is a bit small and won't fit both the lanyard and the lock very well. I have to put the lock in and let the lanyard hang out of the bag. The bag is secured with a velcro flap which hasn't failed yet...I still have my lock after a few spirited rides.

Took me a while to decide if I was going to get this or not as I was confused about the dimensions of the throat, width, and pin diameter. I think another reviewer had the dims, so that was very helpful.

All-in-all, I would recommend this and buy again if I got another bike.

This is the first protein powder that I've purchased and I'm very pleased. The main reason I decided on this one is because it has no artificial sweetners. I hate the aftertaste so I avoid them if at all possible. This powder has no aftertaste and it doesn't affect the overall consistency of my smoothies. The vanilla flavor can be just a little strong, it slightly overpowers the flavor of my fruit when I make smoothies. Next time I'll order the unflavored.

Under the advice of my pediatrician and various websites, we did not attach traditional bumpers to our baby's crib (saftey hazard due to suffocation, older babies use them to climb out of cribs). As the oldest son, I'm the IT guy in my family. We've had one of these for about a year and a half now. Worked well until recently, whereupon I have become a practitioner of Ink Cartridge Voodoo. You see, this particular model of printer has a fault whereby it may read two ink cartridges as occupying the same slot (error code U071.) Why? I frankly don't know. Some people have solved this by buying more cartridges of Canon's ridiculously over-priced ink, but since we're not made of money, we're going to make do with the perfectly good, almost completely full cartridges that are being rejected.
In order to make the printer work now, I practice the art of Ink Cartridge Voodoo - whereby I swap ink cartridges in and out repeatedly until the printer recognizes the fact that the ink cartridges are alright and there is no need for an error message. It's akin to tricking a schitzophrenic into accepting reality as opposed to some delusional fantasy.
As it is, it's going to be another some months until we get a new printer. Until then, print a job, Ink Cartridge Voodoo, print a job, more Voodoo, and repeat.
Heck, even my cheap Lexmark outlasted this clunker. Next time, we're buying something else.

Considering the number of individual color cartridges in this printer, I expected a much higher quality print. The colors do not seem any better than my old HP printer, and that printer only had a tri color and black cartridge. It also cost much less. The cartridges do not last long and are quite expensive. Recently, I experienced two clogs in the print heads.
Long story short, I'd gladly sell this printer, but do not recommend it.

I have owned Canon Pixma IP6600D printer for a number of years. It is durable and have not given me any problems. The quality of the photos is good. It is also handles thicker paper I use for my other craft hobbies.

One of the features I like most is iP6600D has versatile paper-feeding options. I use the top feader for regular letter size paper, and I use the bottom feeder for photo paper. This way I can have different stock paper ready to go just by switching the feeder button.

Switching cartridges is easy. I like that the there is light indicator on each cartridge which tells you when the cartridge is empty (fast blink) and when the ink is low (slow blink).

The feature I never use is the LCD screen on the printer. It is so much easier to control everything sitting in a comfortable chair in front of the PC.

Overall, I am very pleased with the printer - its durability and quality of photos.

The main cost of the printer comes from the cost of the ink cartridges.
. The cost of each individual ink cartridge ranges from around $12.50-15 (on Amazon) to 18.99 in Staples. So no matter how you buy the genuine Canon Ink Cartridges keeping yourself ready to print photos is expensive.

You can get a better per cartridge of you buy them in Canon CLI-8 4-Color Multipack Ink Tanks. In that case each individual cartridge is a little less expensive. Canon package CL-8C (Cyan), CL-8M (Magenta), CL-8Y (Yellow), and CL-8BK (Black) as a pack ($40-44 on Amazon). When cartridges are sold in packs you might think those colors are used at similar rates... but that is not so.

I have kept track of the usage of the cartridges over a long period of time and would like to share these results with you.

Number of cartridges used

CL-8M Magenta = 5

CL-8Y Yellow = 8

CL-8B Black = 6

CL-8PC Photo Cyan = 6

CL-8PM Photo Magenta = 8

CL-8C Cyan = 4


My usage shows that yellow is used the most, followed closely by Photo Magenta, followed next by Black and Photo Cyan, and trailed by Cyan and Magenta. Note that I have a laser printer that I used for text otherwise the usage of the Black Cartridge would have been a lot higher.

I buy most of my color photo ink on-line from Amazon. However now that Staples began (again) accepting CL-8 cartridges for Staples Rewards in their recycling empty cartridges program, I wanted to analyze my usage to see which cartridges I should buy at Staples using my Staples Rewards.

My original thought was to buy Canon CLI-8PC Photo Cyan Ink Tank and Canon CLI-8PM Photo Magenta Ink Tank since they don't come in a pack. But given the usage chart above, it is clear that I should buy extra Yellow and Photo Magenta.

Like any parent, we wanted to buy the best organic mattress we could find, for our little one. We had 2 choices - either this one or another organic mattress that one of biggest warehouses sells at a third of the price. We picked this one, because we thought it to be better quality.

After 3 weeks of sleeping on this mattress, it has deformed under the baby's weight (all 6 1/2 - 7 1/2 lbs) and it has become all 'wavy'. When we received the mattress, we checked it and there were no obvious defects. Now - we can understand this starting to fail in 1 year, but 3 weeks is simply unacceptable for something so expensive.

Considering our buy, we know realize that - in this case - higher price didn't mean better quality, but a manufacturer taking advantage and inflating their price to suggest it.

Our 2 cents - stay away from this and check your local warehouses. You may be able to get same quality at a third of the cost. In our case - we will probably have to buy a new one soon and plan to practice what we preached.

I think I got a defective mattress. It had significant indentations from my baby's head and body after only one night. After a week, the whole middle is essentially concave, and I can feel wires in one spot. Baby has been sleeping nicely on it, however. Naturepedic is sending a warrantee replacement. I will update my review once I have the replacement.

First of all the mattress smells really awful.
After couple of weeks my 7 pound baby is sleeping on an indentation. It is curved under her weight. I am going to return it. Do not buy this product.

We looked for months for an antique white crib that was a good quality for around $300. This one totally fits the bill. Easy to assemble, sturdy, and beautiful Antique White/Ivory color. The wood is pine which is soft and can scratch easily but it is far better than many of the cribs I've seen in baby stores in this price range.

Very pretty color white. It looks beautiful in the nursery and my husband put it together in about an hour and a half. When we were unpacking it though, my ring scratched it and left a mark. I was able to get it off with a Magic Eraser... But I can tell that this crib is going to get really scrated up once the baby gets bigger :-(

This is where it all started for me was in the reviews, I had looked at countless cribs at countless stores for about 3 months. Some of the concerns for the right crib was color, "of witch this is more cream but perfect," the style, "have you noticed that most cribs have all the screw holes right in the front?... what an eye sore, but this crib had most of them hidden and only 2 or 3 that you can see, also we were looking at the cribs that had the dip in the front because my wife if 5' 3'' and I'm 6' 2'', but we saw this one and it's even better because the whole front is as low as the lowest point of the dip which we found is perfect for her and I," the construction and how durable the crib would be over all and this was easily the buying factor for this crib, it does not scratch easily but will if you put enough oomph into it. The slats are far thicker than 98% of the ones I was looking at, it also is made of solid wood. The top of the back, front, and both sides have very nice solid cap rails that definitely add a smooth look to the crib. Also all the corners are nicely rounded for added safety. It only took about 1 � hours to put it together, and the instructions were fairly easy to fallow. Over all we are extremely happy and know we will have the best crib for our son.

Lambs & Ivy has made a beautiful nursery theme for our little son on the way. The fabric and colors are perfect, and very well crafted, well worth the price. Since babies can't use the bumper or the comforter, our bumper will be on there for now for decoration, but the comforter conveniently has a space for a curtain rod to go through on the top, making it perfect as a wall hanging. The valence is perfect as well, but we had to order an extra since there are 2 windows in the nursery. This theme is perfect for anyone wanting an airplane-themed nursery.

As an extra tip- get the wall appliques and the airplanes that hang from the ceiling to really complete the airplane theme. The other items are a little overkill, but those two items perfectly complete the room.

This is a great quality handsome bedding! However I am giving it four stars because in the picture it appears more light blue (which is what we wanted) than it really is-it is more on the grey blue scale. I hope this note can be helpful to other prospective buyers/parents. We are keeping it anyway and will create a vintage theme with blue and red colors in my son's room.

I'm most impressed with the quality of the fitted sheet. The bumper does not fit my crib all that well (it's the kind with the piano hinge that drops the side down about a foot and folds back up), and some of the fabric is very thin cotton. The airplane applique came undone from the applique stitching in a small area after 2 washes. Some of the fabric is velour and very nice however. All in all, a cute set but don't expect to wash it very often. The matching velour blanket I purchased separately is super soft and my 7 year old daughter commandeered it away from my infant son. I have to buy another one. :D

We love this formula, but in particular the probiotic supplement that Nature's One makes works so well. Our 3 month old had her second dose today and her stools are already back to looking exactly like they did when she was breastfed. I think the best part about this formula is that the milk comes from organic farms that graze their cattle 250-300 days per year and take excellent care of the animals (Cornucopia Institute report). Animal welfare is extremely important to me and I can feel good about this product (my husband and I are vegan). I was devastated when breast feeding didn't work out but at least we found a formula that is truly filled with the best organic ingredients and comes from reputable sustainable organic farms that treat the animals well. It also tastes better than other ones I've tried and my chubby little girl sucks it right down. The same company also makes DHA supplements from organic eggs, even though the formula itself contains more of the precursors than the leading brands...which they say leads them to believe the amounts in Baby's Only are sufficient for the baby to truly make their own DHA (Nature's One website).



Babys Only Organic Dairy Formula Case (6 cans) Review by Dave (Portland)

Just to clear up some confusion here is the quote from the manufacture's website:

"Baby's Only Organic� Dairy-based Toddler Formula contains alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and linoleic acid (LA), the fatty acid precursors for Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and Arachidonic acid (ARA)."

Conversion of ALA and LA by the body to the more active longer-chain metabolites is inefficient: 2-5% for DHA. So while adding ALA to your child's diet is helpful it is not a complete substitute for the ARA and DHA found in breast milk (of course no formula can match breast milk).

If you want to use this brand of formula you should consider adding DHA and ARA some other way. This same company makes a supplement called "Baby's Only Essentials� DHA & ARA" and there are others on the market.

This is the best formula ever. be careful using it in infants under year. they can react to the brown rice syrup. My daughter had a mild reaction so I kept using the Carnation Good Start Purple can without the harmful DHA additive and then at 11 months switched her to this organic formula and it was a total success. We have chosen to keep her on it until 2 since she is soooo healthy and is never sick. I buy it direct from the vendor but saw the review here and had to share! You will be so happy with this baby milk. So easy to use and if you call the vendor directly they will mail you scoopers! Sooo convenient.
